Tales of a Doomsday Keychain

Brian sent me a link for a toy that he thought was cool… a doomsday button that works off a USB port. Yes, very cool, but more than we really wanted to spend on a toy.

So I started looking around and found this and ordered it last week. Saturday morning, I check the shipping status. It’s gone from Edison, NJ to Ontario and was on its way back to Edison, NJ. I called UPS and they said they couldn’t tell me anything more than what I was already seeing and she assured me it would be delivered Monday.

Monday morning comes and I have to go to work. Just for kicks, I checked the status again. As of about 10:30 pm Sunday night, it was in Honolulu, HI. WHAT?!?!? Yeah.

I called Think Geek and have to applaud the customer service lady. She was friendly, funny, and helpful. I told her where all it had been, she looked it up and said, “Huh. Well, I don’t know about you but I’d like to be where the keychain is right now!” I agreed wholeheartedly. She credited the shipping cost, sent out a new one at no charge, and blamed it on UPS. The new one is still being processed as of this morning.

Oh, and as of this morning, the one I ordered last week has been in:
NJ
Ontario
Honolulu
San Diego
Ontario
Louisville
Birmingham

…I’ve been everywhere man, I’ve been everywhere…

  1. My mom got Steve that Doomsday thingie for his computer. I agree, it’s a little pricey for a toy, but it fits in with the theory that I honestly believe his computer will someday destroy the earth. What are you going to do, eh?
