So this morning, Taylor wakes up, well, on the wrong side of the bed. She’s very sleepy, very whiney. She immediately starts complaining that her stomach is cold. She was wearing pajamas that include a button-up shirt and one of the buttons had come undone. She whined about it 3 times and I told her, each time, “Quit whining about it and put a shirt on!”
So – how do you teach a kid that if they’ve got a problem, they need to *do* something about it instead of sitting and whining about it?
Granted, she was sleepy so our first step is probably to not try to teach big lessons like this first thing in the morning…
Go grab a beer?
Oh…wait…you probably want to hear from actual parents. 🙂
Boy I’m late on this one! Don’t know how I missed it. My comment: you learned it. How? I think with consistency and repetition. You will endlessly tell her to quit whining and put a shirt on, or some variation thereof, and when she’s a mommy, she’ll get it! 🙂
