A couple of pictures and stories

We still have tons to upload from our camera – dating back to *sigh* October. I would say we’re slackers, but while we may be at times, this isn’t one of those times. It’s been busy! And any downtime we get, we treasure! So… sorry. For now, here are two recent pictures we took with our phones.

Saturday started off busy. I went off to Walmart to help with a gift wrapping tent our church did. At the same time, Brian took Taylor to the church for a rehearsal. After that was over, we ate lunch, rested about 30 minutes then took off to a nursing home where she was to dance. Despite them not having worked on any of the songs in her class, she did very well. Yes, you read right. They had not worked on ANY of the songs in her dance class that they did at this nursing home. We also learned that the chaos that happened at Pumpkin Patch was not a fluke. As a result, we’re praying the recital goes well and have told Taylor that if she wants to dance next year, she can. Just not at that studio. We left early. When we left, Ms. Beverly had told the kids to get their mommy from the audience and let’s all dance! Um. No thank you. I had no interest. At first, neither did Taylor and then she was upset when she changed her mind and I hadn’t changed mine. Her mind was quickly changed again when Brian asked, “Do you want to go see Christmas lights at the zoo?” So from there, home to change clothes then off to the zoo.

They were prettier than last year, I think. There was one nerve-wracking moment when a mom was frantically going through the crowd yelling, “Judith!” Her 4 yo daughter had run off. They found her, thank God. They had a light show set up in the fountain area that was rather impressive and the petting zoo was nice, though smaller than last year. All in all, it was a good evening.

Then Sunday morning! I don’t have to cook breakfast but we still have to get up early. What’s up with that?! The Sr High youth did a pancake breakfast and started serving at 8:30 so kids who were in the play would have the opportunity to eat. We thought Taylor was to be an angel, but due to a lack of costumes small enough, along with two others, she became a lamb. She was the cutest lamb ever! Every now and then Taylor would pop her head up in the stable and wave to us. One time she did it, her head piece was gone. Then the pastor’s son popped his head up and his head piece was gone too. Come to find out, Taylor started it. She was hot. With that in mind, I think we should count our blessings she didn’t take the whole costume off! At the end, all the kids gathered together on the stage and sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Before it started, Taylor’s hairclip was falling out. She pulled it out the rest of the way and handed it to the director saying, “Please give this to my mommy.” At the end of it, Taylor, who was front and center, held up her hands like claws and roared like a tiger. I guess you could say we had a tiger in sheep’s clothing.

And lastly, about a week ago, Brian told me why it’s not a good idea to send him text messages when he’s picking up Taylor. All the kids heard the phone make noise, saw the phone, and knew there was a camera. They began posing. He has several other pictures on his phone, but this one is of the whole group that was there: Taylor, Abbie, Maya, and Chloe.

I would say we’ll do our best to get the rest of the pictures posted, but you’ve heard it before. So I guess I’ll say we’ll get to it when we get to it. I really do wish we had them posted, but we really haven’t had much time. Sorry!
