The long and short of it

Half of that title, at least.

Tomorrow is a big day – Taylor’s first real haircut. It’s finally gotten too long. Of course, we took some final long-hair pictures to share before she gets clipped.

Taylor, the budding photo critic, has to review and approve any picture immediately after I take it. She saw the first three here, then said “Take one of my hand.” So here you are, Taylor’s hand.

Courtesy of the dress-up clothes she received for her birthday, this website is proud to present … Princess Ballerina Taylor Who Lives In A Treehouse Castle.

(Yes, she made up the name herself)

She loves to dance like a ballerina.

I look forward to pulling this picture back out at her engagement party – in 50 years or so.

Bonus pictures from this evening. First, after arriving home from work and school, Taylor and I were playing our usual game of chase around the kitchen-dining room-living room-den circle. This time I was chasing her with the camera. Caught her off guard rounding a corner, and the picture was so cute I had to share it. She was very mad at me for taking it, but she liked the picture after she saw it on the computer.

That’s the other thing – Taylor likes to look at this site now and see her pictures. In fact, she came downstairs to give me my goodnight hug and kiss, and while browsing the pictures above, she asked to see pictures of her Strawberry Shortcake bed. Realizing we didn’t have any, I grabbed the camera and followed her to her room so she could pose with her newest favorite sheets.

Once these got approval from the rather strict editorial review board (those pictures are pretty, Dad!), they got posted as well.

Check back Thursday evening for an updates and pictures from the haircut.

Other news. Big ‘grats to Lauren on her new job in the big ATL. Pie day won’t be the same without you. Neither will Japanese radio culture.

Saw Justin & RaDonna yesterday when they came to town. Great lunch, even better conversation. Taylor would love Atticus – he’s almost as big as she is. Need to make a weekend trip to Gadsden to check out the digs.
