Thankful Thoughts

Today we received a special present from Taylor and her classmates – a book entitled “Thankful Thoughts” that the class put together. The book contains each child’s answers to various questions. It may be the most precious thing I’ve ever read.

Here are Taylor’s answers, for your perusal.

1) What we are most thankful for: “Jesus, Mommy and Daddy.” All together now, awwww! Amusing answers from other kids included: cherries, strawberries, fast cars, ice cream (kid after my own heart), stars (twinkling ones I’m assuming, not Britney) and the zoo.

2) How to cook a turkey: “Take the feathers off and take the bones all out. Then decorate a face on it with candy M&Ms. Then cook it in the oven for 15 minutes.” Some great answers in here, and several Thanksgiving feasts I won’t be attending.

– Peel it first then cook it in the oven for 15 minutes.

– Put pepper on it and mix it all up together. Then cook it in the oven for 6 minutes.

– (From a very sweet girl) First of all you kill it! Then you take the bones out and cook it in the oven for 3 or 4 hours

– Decorate the turkey with cookies, cake, flowers and apples. Then cook it at my house for 5 minutes

– Put sugar and butter on it. Then cook it in Ms. Renee’s “magic oven” in our classroom for 8 minutes.

– Put cheese on it and cook it in the oven for 2 hours (this girl’s got my vote)

3) The most important side dish to prepare if I was cooking a Thanksgiving dinner: “Red Apples” Some of the other answers included Hamburger Helper, raisins and sausage pizza.

4) At my special Thanksgiving feast, my special guest would be: “Strawberry Shortcake.” Other popular answers were Cinderella, Dora the Explorer, Hannah Montana, and (this one’s for you Kenny & Lauren), the Auburn football team. That’s a lot of turkey, kid.
