Every night, Taylor comes down for Part 1 of her nighttime routine. It involves:
Hug
Kiss
Head bump
“Showing love” (rubbing cheeks)
“Nose love” (rubbing noses)
Slap fives sideways, front and back of hands
Fist-fives (like giving five, but with fists)
Pound fists together, knuckle to knuckle
Stack hands as in a huddle, and “break” with “1-2-3, I love you”
Then, as we tuck her into bed, she has to run through Part 2 of The Routine. She tells us:
I love you.
I like you.
I care about you.
*blows kiss*
Have sweet dreams.
Night night.
Tell (Daddy/Mommy, whichever parent isn’t tucking in).
Both of you wake me up.
Open the door a crack when you come to bed.
Other than the opening the door a crack (which debuted sometime last year), this has been what she’s told us since she was 3. Pretty amazing, but she never misses a beat. So sweet.
