Our baby girly graduated K-4 last night! We got video of it. Kenny surprised her by being there and he took some videos and pictures as well. Some of it may eventually appear on it his blog. Some of it will eventually appear on ours as well. Brian’s having to splice together video from our camera as well as one that we borrowed as a back-up.
It was very very sweet. We started the night off with one of Taylor’s favorite meals, spaghetti, then rushed upstairs to change into the required khakis and white shirt then rushed back to the daycare where we arrived a half hour before we had to. Some may say we rushed too much. But then again, we had seats on the front row that were completely taken up by 6:30 (when we *had* to be there by). Brian set up the tripod and said, “I hope she doesn’t have that middle blue seat – she’ll have the microphone stand cutting her in half.” They marched in to the ABC song and yes, Taylor had the middle blue seat. Brian moved the camera. There were demonstrations of what they’d learned that year and while they changed into their caps and gowns, the parents were treated to a photo montage. Yes, I cried. It was neat – each child had their own little segment and showed pictures of them from the past year. After that was a Then & Now segment – we suspected something like that was coming when we were asked for baby pictures a few months back.
We finished off the night with shaved ice and a sleepover with mommy.
